GREAT WESTERN FAN FEST FRESNO, CA - Riding on the heels of a highly successful 2009 event, organizers of the Great Western Southern Gospel Music Fan Festival have announced plans to make a major change in 2010. After 13 years in Fresno, the location for the Great Western Fan Fest will move to the charming city of Visalia, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.. Poised at the entrance of Sequoia and King's Canyon National Forest, Visalia will serve as the perfect setting for this exciting musical event in 2010. “We are absolutely thrilled by the response we received when the announcement was made during this year’s event that we would be making the move to Visalia,” states Fan Festival Board member, Dean Hopper. “The city has pulled out all the stops to welcome this event and those who will attend the event. We experienced phenomenal success at this year’s event and are excited about the continued success we believe the Fan Festival is going to experience in the coming years.” The Visalia Convention Center will be the sight for the 2010 event, scheduled to take place April 29, 30 and May 1. The Great Western Southern Gospel Music Fan Festival made its debut in the city of Fresno, CA, in 1997. Since the inaugural year, the event has grown to become the largest three-day Christian Music event West of the Rockies. The event merges the biggest names in Southern Gospel Music with many of the most popular West Coast-based Gospel recording artists. Throughout the past 13 years, the event has featured many of Southern Gospel Music's legendary groups, such as The Speers, The Cathedrals and The Florida Boys, as well as today's brightest names, including The Hoppers, Greater Vision, The Isaacs, The Booth Brothers and Legacy Five, just to name a few. In addition to nightly concerts, afternoon showcases are held. Throughout the years, the nation's most talented musicians, inspiring speakers and renowned comedians have delighted audiences. The list includes Taylor Mason, Jeff Allen, Dennis Swansberg and California's most recognized pastor, Dr David Jeremiah. The event attracts attendees from at least a half dozen states, as well as Canada and Australia. Southern Gospel Music lovers from all walks of life travel via cars, planes and RVs to converge upon one location for three days of Gospel Music at the annual Fan Festival.
